African American women face an alarming disparity in maternal health, with significantly higher rates of pregnancy-related deaths and life-threatening conditions like preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and blood clots. These challenges are compounded by systemic issues such as inadequate access to quality healthcare, chronic conditions, and pervasive structural racism and bias.
To combat these disparities, we are committed to partnering with organizations dedicated to improving maternal healthcare. By leveraging telehealth, fostering collaborations with forward-thinking healthcare providers, and enhancing data collection, we aim to address the social determinants that hinder fair economic and health opportunities. Together, we can work towards a future where every mother receives the care and support she deserves.
